Linlithgow Loch

St Michael's Parish Church and the ruins of Linlithgow Palace are the two ancient monuments that populate this scene on the banks of the loch in Linlithgow, West Lothian. While the former is one of the Church of Scotland's largest burgh churches, the latter was once a principle residence for Scottish monarchs. Although the current appearance of both Church and Palace ruins date from the 15th century, the early history of each date back an additional 300 years. 19.05.2019
